Why do I need a toner anyway?

When hair is lightened it creates unwanted tones that are often warm or brassy hues. A toner will neutralise any unwelcome tones while adding the perfect shade for you. A toner can be used to give you a more natural-looking finish or enable you to experiment with a more creative temporary shade if you fancy trying something new today.
Why has my hair colour faded?

A toner will fade in up to six weeks as the colour is deposited onto the hair rather than into it. To maximise the life of your toner, wash your hair as infrequently as possible, using a colour safe shampoo. Invest in a heat protector for use when drying, curling or straightening your hair and always cover your hair on sunny days.
Will a toner damage my hair?

Only if you use them too often! Our NXT Toners are actually packed full of nourishing ingredients, including Argan Oil and Vitamin D, so your hair will look, and feel, in better condition. A word of warning though, if you tone too often or regularly use at home-toners your hair can become vulnerable to damage and breakage.
How long will I need to keep the toner on for?

The amount of time your colour takes to develop will depend on what your hair looks like right now and the finished look you’d like to achieve. For a colour refresh you should allow a minimum of 10 minutes; if a toner is being used for colour correction it will need to develop for up to 20 minutes.
